Are You Eligible for Traffic School?
Not every ticket qualifies. California law sets the rules for who can use traffic school to mask a point — here's what you need to know before you pay.
Valid CA driver's license at the time of the violation
Non-commercial vehicle — commercial drivers cannot use TVS to mask points on their commercial record
Correctable or minor traffic infraction — not a misdemeanor, DUI, or violation requiring a mandatory court appearance
Court permission granted — your citation must show you're eligible, or you must request and receive approval from your court
Once every 18 months — California only allows traffic school to mask one point per 18-month period
